Businesswoman and philanthropist — Co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Having many awards and being honorary to many charities and institutions, she was also the Person Of The Year in 2005.

Since 2000 they have founded more than $33 million for charities with his husband.

Oprah Winfrey

Actress, Director/Producer, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist — Host of The Oprah Winfrey Show

Struggling as child and adolescent, Oprah was still able to start her career in the media, leading to becoming one of the most iconic television hosts of all time.

Marissa started her career at Google, being the first engineer there. 13 years later she was appointed as the CEO of Yahoo.

Family is as important to her as Yahoo: she lives in a happy marriage, they have 3 children.

Zhang Xin

Economist, businessperson — CEO of SOHO China

Being a poor child, she worked to save money for her education. Later she worked for Barings and Goldman Sachs, and returned to HongKong to found Hongshi (later SOHO) with her husband in 1995. It is the largest real estate developer of China, giving Zhang a net worth of $3.6 billion.

Tory Burch

Fashion designer, businesswoman, philanthropist — CEO and designer at Tory Burch LLC

Besides having the Tory Burch fashion label with 160 stores worldwide, Tory also pays attention to philanthropy. Together with Bank of America, Tory launched Elizabeth Street Capital to help women entrepreneurs get access to low-cost capital.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw

Entrepreneur — chairman and managing director at Biocon

Kiran studied biology and zoology, and worked as a trainee manager at Biocon Biochemicals Ltd in Ireland. Later she returned to India, and became the first biotech entrepreneur of her country: founded Biocon in 1978.

Biocon has been developing ever since: it has started with enzymes and expanded into the field of pharmaceuticals too.

She is also a philanthropist, she has donated a significant amount of money to help those in need.

Denise Coates

Businesswoman — founder and joint CEO of Bet365

She obtained her degree in econometrics, and later studied accounting working in the family’s business.

In 2000, she purchased bet365.com and it took a year for her to complete the betting site. Since then, Bet365 has grown into one of the largest online gambling companies, which she runs with her brother John.

In 2012, she’s set up the Bet365 Foundation donating more than $140 million to UK charities.

Denise’s net worth is around $4 billion.

Indra Nooyi

Physicist, chemist, manager — Chairperson and CEO of PepsiCO

She joined PepsiCO in 1994 and was appointed as CFO in 2006. This led to becoming the CEO of the company in 2006.

She has won numerous honorary awards and she’s has some memberships and associations.

Indra’s overall net worth is $144 million.
